GWE are a medium-sized engineering consultancy who, through acquisition, have three offices across the north island. Having identified a requirement to carry out a comprehensive review, rationalisation and improvement of our H&S management and systems we needed to engage a suitably experienced, competent and – most importantly – pragmatic specialist consultant to lead this. 

As with most modern organisations, GWE are looking to digitise the process and documentation with a view to improving team engagement, so it was critical to find the right business to partner with and deliver this. Having worked down a list of ‘referrals’ we finally had a conversation with Kelly, who immediately demonstrated an alignment to our business ethos of simplification, efficiency, and compliance. Perhaps even more positive was her focus, as we do, on engaging with and improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of each and every one of our team. When contacting other consultants, we found too many of them seemed to focus on producing reems and reems of paperwork to reach for should the worst happen. Their fee also reflected this. 

Her team have worked through our current H&S systems and consulted with us on updates, to ensure we are compliant, along with advising on improvements in both approach and execution to create a process that is significantly better we have no doubt team understanding, focus and engagement will improve exponentially. 

When you are able to partner with an expert like Kelly, it makes it very difficult to justify the costs of recruiting an in-house resource. We will certainly continue to develop our business H&S systems and processes alongside her as we continue to expand.
